150TH CELEBRATION GARDEN TULIP PLANTING—St. Albert Botanic Park is one of the 150 Celebration Gardens to mark Canada’s 150th Anniversary. They will be planting 500 white and 500 red tulips in the new Heritage Garden. On September 28th at 1:30 pm, Mayor Nolan Crouse will plant the first tulip as invited guests, volunteers and local residents come out to help celebrate this great honour. The Park is the only 150th Celebration Garden to be selected in St. Albert.

RADICAL REELS—On September 29th, be awestruck by what some athletes do when they’re determined to break barriers. Part of the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival, these films will showcase mountain sports that include skiing, boarding, climbing, kayaking and more.

MONKEYJUNK—On September 30th, get your rock and blues fix with MonkeyJunk. This Ottawa based, Juno award winning band has all the elements for great music: funk, soul, “deep swamp” blues and rock. Be warned, though, as this concert will be amplified; earplugs will be available.

ST. ALBERT ARTS FESTIVAL—From September 30th to October 2nd come out to help celebrate arts and culture in St. Albert. There’ll be neighbourhood block parties, the reopened Juneau House, St. Albert paint night and poems written in chalk under six bridges.

SERVUS PLACE 10TH ANNIVERSARY—On October 1st, Servus Place will celebrate 10 years in St. Albert. There’ll be face painting, bubble soccer, dodge ball, public skating and, most importantly, cupcakes. Admission or membership required. The party starts at noon and ends at 4 pm.
