ARTWALK & RECONSTRUCTIONS—On September 1st, take in the last ArtWalk of the year. It’s also the opening reception for Brenda Danbrook’s Reconstructions exhibition. Brimming with Canadian nostalgia, this immersive gallery installation features Danbrook’s own wheel-thrown pottery adorned with silkscreened historical images from the Musée Héritage Museum archive, as well as artifacts from a bygone era. ArtWalk and reception is from 6 pm to 9 pm. <insert image>

SWEET, SWEET CORN FESTIVAL—
From September 3rd to 5th, Bon Accord’s 8th annual Corn festival is certain to uphold its well-earned reputation as huge fun. A family event with a cornucopia of corny activities including corn-eating contests, corn mazes, face painting, corny jokes, veggie art and more. Celebrate this Labour Day Weekend with “ear-resistible” corn fun. Where: Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm, Bon Accord, 25 minutes north of Edmonton on HWY 28.

FIFTH ANNUAL DOG SWIM—
On September 5th, bring Fido out to beat the dog days of summer with a cool swim in the pool. You and your four-legged friend will be helping out SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society) with your donations of money, or new or gently used items. If you have an idea to help the environment, but don’t know how to get it out to the public, then mark September 6th on your calendar. This free information session presented by the Environmental Advisory Committee will give you all that you need to know about the Environmental Initiatives Grant Program including eligibility details, how to get started and apply, plus a Q&A period.
