KICK-START YOUR NOVEL—On October 27th, St. Albert Public Library’s writer-in-residence Marty Chan will give you tips and share his experiences in this hands-on workshop to get your story idea down on paper or on screen. Registration is required for this event. It starts at 7 pm and ends at 8:30 pm.

POPPY CAMPAIGN—From October 28th to Remembrance Day, volunteers from the Royal Canadian Legion will be around the city handing out poppies to the public. Your donation goes towards Veterans and their families.

NIGHT OF FEAR FESTIVAL—On October 28th and 29th, get your Halloween on at this third annual festival. There’ll be vendors (in costume), a tarot card reader, performances from a local vampire author, as well as magicians. Other activities include body-painted costumes, parades, a haunted house and much more.

SKATE & SCARE—On October 30th, this month’s free, themed skate is all about Halloween. There’ll be games, hot chocolate and Timbits courtesy of the Jenkins Family Tim Horton’s. As usual, no shoes, strollers, skating aids, sticks or pucks allowed.
