COLOURING FOR GROWN-UPS—On October 13th, break out your crayons and colouring books for the St. Albert Library will be hosting 90 minutes of relaxing colouring book fun. This event is just for grown-ups so they can unwind and socialize. Everything will be supplied, but you’re welcome to bring your own books and colouring tools.

ALBERT FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE—Every Tuesday until October 25th, there are two parent and toddler activities being offered at the Family Resource Centre. The first is Toddler Rock, a program to stimulate toddlers’ developmental needs through music: instruments, singing and dancing. The second is Pumpkin Patch, a program to get parents/caregivers and toddlers in the autumn mood with all things pumpkin: sing and dance about them, and craft and cook with them.

OPEN HEART, OPEN MIND WITH CLARA HUGHES—Part of the STARfest Festival and presented by Rivers Edge Counselling, come to hear this six-time Olympic medalist and mental health advocate talk about her book. This memoir is a journey about Hughes’ depression and her journey to recovery. The event starts at 7 pm with refreshments, book signing and silent auction afterwards.

AMPLIFY FESTIVAL—On October 14th and 15th, St. Albert and area youth get a chance to experience what a career in arts and culture is really like. With free and paid workshops, information sessions and two big concert evenings, there’ll be enough activity to keep you entertained and informed for two days.

CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER—From October 15th to 23rd, head to the St. Albert Botanic Park for this much-anticipated tradition: Christmas in October. New seasonal stock will be added to the already dazzling array of garden treasures. There’ll be mulled cider and home-baked squares each day. All proceeds fund Botanic Park operations.

COAT DRIVE—St. Albert Minor Hockey Association is still collecting coats of all sizes for its Coat Drive until October 23rd. So if you have coats you no longer wear, drop them off at any of the five St. Albert arenas. No need to clean them as Paige Cleaners will do all that.
