SACB SPRING CONCERT—On June 7th, come hear jazz, favourite movie soundtracks and dance tunes played by the St. Albert Community Band and the Saint City Big Band under the direction of Dr. Angela Schroeder (SACB) and J F Picard (SCBB).

WRITING YOUR MEMOIR—On June 8th, writer-in-residence Richard van Camp will be sharing his 25-year experience in recording life stories. So, if you want to write down your memoirs or your family’s story, van Camp will be able to help by sharing his techniques.

ST. ALBERT FARMERS’ MARKET—Starting on June 10th, it’s the return of western Canada’s largest farmers’ market. There’ll be over 250 vendors following the motto “make it, bake it, grow it.” Every year, nearly 20,000 come to the market, and last year the market raised over 2,400 lbs of food for the St. Albert Food Bank. No dogs or smoking allowed, and there’s free bus transit to and from the market.

PORKAPALOOZA 2017—On June 10th & 11th, come to one of the top barbeque festivals in Canada that’s earned recognition for its unique mix of classic barbeque competition, music, family activities and a celebration for the love of food. Admission is free. The Porkapalooza BBQ Festival Society annually works towards ending hunger by supporting a number of charities in various activities.

KIDS OF STEEL TRIATHLON—On June 11th, cheer on potential future Canadian Olympians at the 2017 Kids of Steel Triathlon. There’ll be biking, swimming and running, and each entrant will be in his or her age group. Parking is restricted in some areas to keep everyone safe, so be sure to check the website before you head out.

FOOD TRUCKS ARE COMING!—On June 18th (Father’s Day), treat your dad and your taste buds to mouth-watering morsels from some of the region’s best food trucks such as DaVinci Gelato Originale, Meat Street Pies, Orbit Food Truck and more. Enjoy live local music, tours of the grain elevators, games and crafts, and more. Admission is a non-perishable food item.

ST. ALBERT UKRAINIAN DANCERS—On June 21st, take advantage of the opportunity to see if you like Ukrainian dancing. Dance Co Studio is hosting a complimentary community event for children 4 yrs and up. The event starts at 5 pm for kids 4 to 5 yrs; 6 pm for kids 6 to 7 yrs; and 7 pm for kids 8 to 9 yrs. Try on Ukrainian costumes, and take a fun dance class.

BLATCHFORD FIELD’S 90TH ANNIVERSASRY—On June 24th, learn about Canada’s first municipal air harbour that opened in Edmonton 90 years ago. Activities will include a children’s dress-up and photo activities, open cockpits, Blatchford Field opening re-enactment, and special presentations by Denny May and the Blatchford Development Group.

GROWN-UPS READ THINGS THEY WROTE AS KIDS—On June 26th, adults will have the chance to share their own writing they wrote as kids. As heard on CBC Radio, adults read aloud poetry, journal entries, letters and more to a room full of strangers. So, if you feel like you want to share your adolescent thoughts, sign up for this event.

PATRON APPRECIATION DAY—On June 28th, the St. Albert Public Library wants to say thank you to its patrons with free refreshments that will be served all day. It’s also the kick-off to the library’s Summer Reading Games for adults, teens and children.
