Father’s Day is this Sunday, so here are a few options to show Dad how much he’s loved. There are also a few options for the rest of the week to expand your mind or just to enjoy the moment.
VIBE—Music and art to get you in the weekend mood. Zinc will provide the refreshments. Get your feet tapping with the AMCA nominated duo The Orchard, and feel the scorching beat with Make Out City. UVA graduate Dara Humniski will be leading a paper sculpture activity.

AGELESS ART—A recurring event for adults on the third Thursday of every month. This one-day workshop’s theme this week is weaving. You’ll have a guided tour of the current exhibit, professional instruction and the use of artist-grade materials.

PARKLAND UKRAINIAN DANCE SOCIETY—Discover your Ukrainian roots with the Society’s year-end concert. Dancers of all ages will mesmerise their audience with this colourful, energetic and skillful cultural dance.

PRESCHOOL PICASSO—One hour to let 3-to-5-year-olds, plus their parents, have creative, messy fun with no set rules and a whole lot self-expression through art. The theme is “recreate, renew, reuse,” and the only requirement is that everyone dresses for a creative mess.

ARTVENTURES—These 90 minutes will help 6-to-12-year-olds understand how the current art exhibit is made by learning the basic techniques and skills the artists used. Parents can stay and learn as well, but everyone will need to dress for mess as you create art with the theme of “recreate, renew, reuse.”

FATHER’S DAY BEER GARDEN & SOUTHERN STYLE BBQ—This Sunday, dads get in free at Fort Edmonton Park. Enjoy a day filled with activities for the whole family, and dads will feel like they’re kings, if only for a few hours.
