LEGO AT THE LIBRARY—On January 5th, let your constructive imagination take flight with Lego. Kids in Grade 1 to Grade 6 can enjoy an hour of building whatever they want out of this favourite toy. The library supplies the Lego, but you need to register for the event.

PRACTICE DANCE—On January 6th, Sabrina’s Dance Instruction is offering a free practice dance in honour of its 30th Anniversary. For those who have had or are taking dance lessons and need to get some practice time. Registration required.

NEW YEAR’S SKATE—On January 8th, enjoy a free skate to ring in the new year. There’ll be complimentary hot chocolate and Timbits from Jenkins Family Tim Hortons. Event starts at 1:45 pm and ends at 3:15 pm.

THE LITTLE MERMAID—Starting on January 11th, Paul Kane High School Musical Theatre presents Disney’s The Little Mermaid, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale. You’ll find yourself singing along to “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.” The production goes to January 13th.
