Light and dark shades share the stage for 2021 For only the second time in history since the Pantone Color Institute started picking its annual shades, the organization has selected two hues to represent 2021. The two selected colors, Illuminating (a shade of what civilians might call yellow) and Ultimate Grey mark a departure from the bolder shades in recent years. Fittingly when combined, the shades are supposed to represent positivity and strength, something we can all agree is what’s badly needed today, considering the sobering events of 2020.
